There were no real surprises when we looked at the results of what kinds of equipment you own.

91% of readers own 35mm SLR cameras and a healthy 24% own Medium format rigs.

And a lot of you are dipping a toe into the digital waters. 20% have invested in a digital SLR and a whopping 38% have compact digitals so 58% of readers own some kind of digital camera.

We did get a surprise when you told us which camera is your primary camera.

The top format was 35mm SLR at 67%.

What surprised us was that 17% of you have made a digital SLR your primary camera system and that 16% are using a compact digital as your primary system. That means that a whopping 33% of you have made the switch to digital.

Another surprise was that while 24% of you own medium format rigs, they are the primary camera format for only 5% of you.
