Self Assignment Contest

What are Self Assignments and Why Do Them?

We all tend to get in creative ruts sometimes. We start assuming too much about what we can and can't photograph, and about the limits of our equipment, our film, and ourselves. These assignments (hopefully) take you out of your comfort zone and get you photographing things you might not normally shoot.

The only way to really learn is to do, and the more film you put through your camera the better you'll get.  Plus you get the chance to win some cool stuff.  This months winner will get 20 rolls of the Professional film courtesy of FujiFilm Professional.

Runners up will receive 10 rolls of the Professional film of their choice courtesy of FujiFilm Professional.

Winners please allow six to eight weeks to receive your prizes.

This Month - Transportation

This month it's planes, trains and automobiles! For that matter you can even shoot bicycles!

The subject of this month's contest is transportation, the goal is to capture interesting shots of modes of transportation. Whether it be cars, boats, planes or skateboards.

You can include them in sweeping landscapes such as Gary Stanley's shot of a train shown here, or you can focus on details such as the shot of a single winch aboard a sailboat (below).

But the shot should focus on the mode of transportation. In other words you can shoot cars and trains, but not lonely roads, bridges or train tracks.
